Little Piney Ranch
is located near many famous historical sites. Fort
Phil Kearny, where several important Indian battles were fought, is located just down
Wagon Box Road from the ranch. We are also approximately a one-hour drive from the
Little Bighorn Battlefield in southern Montana. The small town
of Story, Wyoming is just a few minutes from the ranch. Story has
several fine restaurants including The Lodore and the Wagon Box Inn. |

The northern Wyoming cities of
Buffalo and
Sheridan are a short drive away. Buffalo,
Wyoming hosts the Jim
Gatchell Museum of the West, the historic Occidental Hotel and many other historic
buildings. There is also a fine downtown shopping district and fine restaurants. |

Sheridan,
Wyoming has the historic Sheridan Inn, the King Ropes Museum, Trails End Museum and
many other fine attractions. Sheridan also has a fine shopping district and fine
dining opportunities. During the summer months, there are rodeos most every week in
Buffalo and Sheridan. |

Hole-in-the-Wall

Just west of the
Town of Kaycee
is the famous Hole-in-the-Wall region, where the outlaws Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid
and others holed up, The area is characterized by rolling plains and the magnificent
red rock wall. It's about a 1½ hour drive from Little Piney Ranch. |

Two routes into the Big Horn Mountains and
Bighorn National Forest, US Highway 16 from Buffalo and US Highway 14 from Ranchester (12
miles north of Sheridan) can be accessed via a short drive from Little Piney Ranch.
Along both of these routes you will see spectacular scenery and wildlife. |
