ACTIVITIES

There are numerous activities available at Little Piney Ranch and the surrounding area to entertain everyone in your family or group.  Below is a list of what we have available.  Please select a link at the left or at the beginning or each paragraph to go to a more detailed page about each activity.

Horseback Riding Lessons

Learn how to ride a horse or increase your skills if you've ridden before.  We have a large indoor riding arena, large outdoor rodeo arena and an even larger ranch with wide open spaces for a great riding experience.

Fishing

We offer catch & release trout fishing on Little Piney Ranch.  We have several fishing ponds stocked with nice trout and Little Piney Creek runs right through the ranch. There are many other fishing opportunities within a short distance of the ranch.

Sightseeing, Wildlife Viewing & Photography

There is endless beautiful scenery on the ranch and the region.  Wildlife frequently seen on the ranch include pronghorn antelope, whitetailed deer, mule deer, upland game birds such as Wild Turkeys, Grouse and Ringnecked Pheasant.  During certain times of the year, bald eagles and other birds of prey can also be seen in the area.

Hunting

Little Piney Ranch offers limited hunting opportunities for game birds, antelope and whitetail deer.  Please call us for details and licensing in formation.

Local Attractions

Johnson County, Wyoming is an area filled with many historical sites and activities.  Little Piney Ranch is within walking distance of Fort Phil Kearny, the site of several important Indian battles.  The Fetterman Battlefield and the Wagon Box Fight location are also nearby.  We are within a short driving distance to the Town of Story and the cities of Buffalo and Sheridan where there are great opportunities for historical sight seeing, photography, fine dining and shopping. Wyoming's historic "Hole-in-the-Wall" country is about an hour's drive south of the ranch.  The Custer Battlefield at Little Big Horn is about a 1-1/2 hour drive across the border in southern Montana.

Rest & Relaxation

Our beautiful, quiet location and comfortable cabin lodging provides a great setting for getting away from it all.  Peace and quiet are abundant here.  Take in the magnificent scenery and solitude.
